About Glasgow Jazz Services

Glasgow Jazz Services was formed in 1990, by Glasgow jazz veteran Ziggy Zigman, to facilitate “The Explosion of Music” in Glasgow’s European Year of Culture. Funded by the Festival Unit and encompassing all styles of jazz, it became a vehicle for many young musicians to find their feet in small group events throughout the city’s pubs and jazz venues, many of which have gone on to be successful throughout the UK. In the years that followed, the agency evolved, providing live music for a diverse array of events:

- James Bond themed night at Skibo Castle

- Marching New Orleans Band for funerals

- Big Band for 60th. anniversary of D-Day landings

- Warm up band for Rod Stewart concert at SECC

- B & Q store openings

- Trade Union marches

- Corporate & wedding bands
