Barry Shafar & Cheezee Choonz

In taking over the running of Glasgow Jazz Services, Barry Shafar has added another dimension to his entertainment business. An established DJ, he started up his mobile disco business, Cheezee Choonz in 1999, as a one man venture.

Many years later, he is running one of Glasgow's leading mobile disco and DJ agencies.

He insists that although a lot more of his time is spent recently in running the business, performing still has a big part to play in his life: ‘As time goes on, I continue to enjoy performing at each of my gigs. In fact, I'm enjoying them more than ever right now. As long as I'm fit enough to do the YMCA at a wedding or the air guitar at a kids' party, I'll be gigging for a long time yet.’

Barry's wealth of experience in organising DJs for private and corporate events will be invaluable as he builds up the success of Glasgow Jazz Services for years to come.
