Ziggy Zigman
Having been involved in the Glasgow Jazz scene for 50 years, Ziggy can literally talk for hours on end on the subject - “some people get high on drink, I get high on jazz.” He started off as a volunteer jazz promoter and struck up an early relationship, which remains to this day, with the legendary George Penman.
Throughout the 60s, 70s & 80s, he was heavily involved in organising live music for all events on a part-time basis. Glasgow's year of culture status in 1990 prompted him to leap onto the scene in a professional capacity, and thus Glasgow Jazz Services was born. Having passed the reigns over to Barry Shafar, he will now remain with the agency on a consultancy basis.
“I am delighted to have been involved with Glasgow Jazz Services since its inception. As Glasgow's longest running jazz agency, GJS has consistently displayed first class expertise and professionalism in the jazz scene.”
